Re: Chicago Restaurant Guide???
Of the standard Chicago pizza spots near the loop or gold coast, Lou Malnatis was the best to me. Definitely hit one of the hot dog places with the yellow Vienna hot dog sign, mostly the same, all good.

Re: College Basketball 2013-14
NCAA needs to be shut down all together. How can you seriously put that on a bracket when the widespread notoriety of the tourney is mostly dependent on casual gambling pools. Its about time for a big time school to back away from athletics entirely.

Per ESPN Boston trhose contract details are pretty crappy for Browner. $1MM guaranteed? Pretty much everything else is bonuses. Guess he was in a bad spot coming off the suspension. Total value: $12.35 million Maximum value: $16.8 million Signing bonus: $0 2014 Base: $1 million (guaranteed) Offseaso...

ESPN just deciding not to show a replay of the foul on Hood was like the most ESPN/Duke thing ever. Even Sports Center was crushing them for it! Nothing remotely controversial about that call. http://Instagram.com/p/ljG3apx6HB/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Btw, after a d...

Re: NFL Offseason Thread
Yeah but what was special was the quick feet. Can't imagine that coming back and bill knows it better than anyone. Reiss also made a good point about the 6yr rookie deal and I recall the lengths he and mankins went through to get a deal so I'm not surprised he's taking the hard line. No other way to...

Does sound like Wilfork is gone. Sad. Definitely the right move but still sad. That guy was (and still might be and old) beast, but the new kids played well and im not sure I trust a old big man coming off an Achilles for 11 mil in cap space. I do think he can still play for a long time though. Thos...

Re: NFL 2014 Season win totals
As for the Pats WR it took way more than 2 games to "work in" the rookies. Brady had horrendous stats until Amendola and Gronk where back because of drops, wrong routes, etc. etc. Yep. More like 2 years not 2 games. Those rookies pretty much did squat. Thompkins made a big play in the Sai...

Talib stings a lot more than welker. Defense is still good but it was great with talib and mayo and wilfork. Have to disagree on the manning short window justification. Wrong strategy. That's all the more reason you don't mortgage the future on one guys health. You have to have depth at the expense ...

Since isn't really much in terms of a dark side, theres this kind of 60s nostalgia around use... but id bet that the "average" user is a lot closer to a cigarette smoker than the kind of social user sancarlos references. Id like to see some research on that. Also agree that filters (or lac...

Agree Howard. The sentiment has moved too far in favor of legalization. I still think its best to legalize (mostly to decriminalize) but the physical harm of pot has been totally overlooked. Isnt this the reason the supreme court has made up law over the past century. Legislators pass (or attempt to pass) laws and judges interject with their upper class norms under the guise of a state or federal constitution. Whats the problem?

I went to the AFC championship game against Jaguars(!) that year the Pats went to the superbowl and got stuck with 2 tix and had to sell less than face at the stadium. Vividly remember that. So the Pats weren't that far off a blackout even back then.

I stopped following baseball as closely once I moved out of the Sox tv market but even I know enough to know that's nuts. Pats were pretty silly not to give him a longer deal coming off the foot injury. He proved a lot over the past 2-3 seasons and made plays in a crowded WR... not to mention his willingness to return kicks where Welker wouldnt. Yeah... Welker definitely didn't make anyone forget about his drops or generally poor special teams work with the Pats. That said, Amendola was pretty quiet. Didn't make anyone forget about the 100 plus catches for welker.

Win or lose, best the Pats have looked this year. Vereen changes a lot. This offense is getting back to where they've been. Ifs and buts... but this team would be unbelievable if they still had the DTs and MLB. Funny how you start totally dependent upon the defense and then you change into something...

It takes guts to go to the boss and tell on the other guys in the locker room, knowing that there will be retribution beyond what you have already endured. A lot less guts to quit and walk away and let your lawyer do the telling for you.

Another point is that considering the Bountygate penalties, the door is open here for similar action against the Dolphins. Though if this report is true, Philbin's career is probably over anyway.
