Re: Swamp Travel Guide
Saw a dude waterskiing at dawn right off Lakeshore Drive in Chicago this morning.
I got a pretty cool photo of it, and I'd share here, but all my pics from my phone seem too big for The Swamp. Any tips on that?

Caught the Diamondbacks game at Chase Field. Pretty great atmosphere, and a packed stadium. The stadium itself is good. Though I didn't partake, they had excellent food and beer options. My pro tip is that if you are willing to walk 10 minutes, you can park for $20 instead of $60. This is active ML...

Re: EPL 2024-25
I set a dangerous precedent. I was so frustrated by Newcastle's play and lack of effort, which resulted in them going down 1-0 at Wolves. So I turned off the TV to go on a rage-walk to calm down instead of letting these guys ruin my Sunday. When I got back, they had come back to win 2-1. So now when...

Just found out Delta SkyClubs are switching their NA beer from Bud to Heineken starting tomorrow, which is a wonderful surprise. I used to spend loads of time at various Delta SkyClubs around the country. Used to love eating breakfast in SFO before a dawn flight. My favorite was one at the end of t...

Re: EPL 2024-25
Will be interesting to see how they play moving forward. In soccer, a moment can really swing the momentum of a season.
And Onana's double penalty save (even though it was a soft penalty Brererton-Diaz's follow-up header was weak as sh*t) might just be that moment.

I see you, Nottingham.
Manchester United looked so lost for the first 30. Southampton should have been up at least 2-0. Onana bailed them out.

That's great! I had success with meal logging in MyFitnessPal, too (really helped during the spring/summer of Covid when there was nothing to do but eat and drink), but have had a difficult time restarting the habit after I let it drop at some point. Yeah. This is all so much about habits. My new m...

This is the type of math I like ... 0 alcohol + >5 miles a day walking/light jogging = -10.5 pounds (n=32 days). I've also been entering my daily calories into MyFitnessPal. The mere fact that I have to enter food there has stopped me on a number of occasions from unhealthy snacking, which just goes...

I know they were missing a few key guys, but... Holy shit were the US bad yesterday. Canada, very easily, could've been up 4-0 at HT. What a legend. If you haven't watched Bingo Long's Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings, now's a good time. An imperfect, but important, movie. Great article about it here if you aren't familiar.

Some of my recent reads: City of Falling Angels - read it because I'm heading to Venice. First half of the book was fantastic. Second half, which mostly focuses on a bunch of rich American board members bickering and the death of an erotic poet, was pretty awful in my opinion. Bone in the Throat by ...

Finally watched The Bikeriders tonight. It’s a good movie and worth seeing but it’s like the actors are in different movies. Tom Hardy is doing a two-hour Brando impression. I won't remember the details exactly. But one other thing I learned about OKC is that there used to be many areas - where people built homes and business and I think this includes most of downtown - where tornadoes touching down were really rare. It's one of the reasons people built there. But in or...

We had our annual 10-team PPR auction (bengal and Jpops co-commish).
We have 11 bench spots, so I grabbed Brooks with one. My team will likely be midpack unless Bijan and Etienne really go off.
Need to decide on my Week 1 flex (Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, Jerry Jeudy, Chase Brown).

Maybe I should dip back in there, but it felt like a bunch of milquetoast white dudes trying to sound smart. Which is probably most of the content on the internet, and in podcasts. But at bluesky there wasn't anything else to distract me from the sadness of that.

Manchester United looked absolutely lost out there today. Poor Casemiro is ready for either the Saudi league or MLS. And Gravenberch is a revelation as the defensive mid for Liverpool. Negronis have been my favorite cocktail for over a decade now. The complexity of flavors is so nice.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 9:28 pm Love a Negroni. Feel free to use that bourbon or rye instead of gin and have a Boulevardier.
Boulevadier is a nice alternative as well. Not quite as balanced as a proper Negroni though.
