Coach K's replacement. Man, that just ain't right. Makes sense, but I love Stevens; I don't want to have to hate him. (I actually liked and rooted for the Gminski--Spanarkel--Banks pre-K Dukies. Beating Notre Dame will earn a place in my heart like that. I'm sure you liked that team, AB. But so muc...

Re: NCAA Tournament thread - Play-In games and Round of 64
I really think that Stevens has proven enough at Butler that he has no reason to move to a mid-level team in a big conference. He can wait and get one of the big jobs with ease (I only consider about 6-8 jobs big jobs). And yeah, UNC would be a good fit as well as Old Roy isn't getting any younger ...

For the last few years I’ve had two brackets to represent the two sides of every basketball fan – the stat junkie and the emotional basket case (pun not intended). One bracket was the calculated research-driven bracket. I poured over that bracket using data I exhaustively collected: RPI, strength of...

microsoft has this program called OneNote, but I can't figure out if it is good or not. My company just switched to outlook after being on Lotus notes for 15 years, and it's the first time I have ever used anything other than notes. So I am a newbie and I can't figure out if OneNote is worth it.

Already pre-barfing. If I were anyone but me, I'd mock my level of investment in a play-in game. I can't decide how nervous I will be tomorrow. I should be nervous... this Missouri team could make the Final Four and it wouldn't be that much of a surprise given expectations and talent level. But it ...

But the athetes get zero. Grad students get paid. Or is that your point? The athletes get a lot more than zero, if we're talking about recruited players in football and basketball at major sports universities. They get free tuition and most living expenses covered, as well as expert training in the...

For no reason other than it seems to fit. Pac 12 not impressive, Belmont team that got some late press for being good, etc.

Why waste Bombay Sapphire with a dirty martini? The olive brine will dominate the flavor of most gins, so you might as well drink cheaper gin in a dirty martini. I've been putting about as much brine in as vermouth, which is to say about 3/4 of a teaspoon. No domination whatsoever. eta: You're conf...
