Re: The 2013 MLB thread - March/April edition

That's an offset camera angle. Pitch f/x has it 1.5 feet off the middle of the plate, so 6" inside the 4 ft batters box. The night before, Ethier got hit by a pitch at about 2.25 feet in, over a foot inside it.

Re: The 2013 MLB thread - March/April edition

Ya got me. The $147MM man who accidentally hit Quentin twice prior missed his location in a tight NL game on a 3-2 pitch by four and a half feet. Inside. By accident. Again. Quentin hasn't had single digit HBP in a full season in his career (and Quentin doesn't have full seasons when he has full se...

Re: The 2013 MLB thread - March/April edition

I'm almost never ok with throwing at a batter anywhere but between the numbers and the thighs, but if LA wants to aim for Quentin's hands and wrists when they next see him, I wouldn't have an issue. (And I'm not 100% anti-brawl, although usually in the AL, because there does have to be some potentia...

Those who are knowledgable, fire away. Right now inventory is painfully low in our range so we're considering either reopening some search areas or looking into new areas. Last night was a great "man, what a stupid setup" moment for the Rangers. Toronto sitting 5th, Rangers in the mix from 6th through 9th, and best case scenario was an OT that pushes Toronto into locking up 5th so we can max out and still not get above 6th.

Well that was fun. Left at the rain delay so I got to miss the joys of watching a "closer" with control issues. That always works out well. One of the things the Red Sox did to lure more fans was to offer $5 beers. Only problem was that $5 beers were about half the size of regular priced ...

Sounds like you're in a better position than about 90% of people your age to do something like this. Go for it. Especially if the flipside of "writing a book" is keeping a job at a gym that I imagine would come back around in a year if you want it.

Are people saying the ump didn't decide to call a strike until Zobrist made a move, or that he didn't make it uber-demonstrative until Zobrist made a move? Incompetent or dick? The entire song is both offensive and completely undercutting of the title in the first two lines. That has to be some sort of record.
