That's a good point about the supermarkets. I probably do a quarter or less of my grocery shopping in the traditional places (i.e., not TJs or Whole Foods) and I try to go when it's not busy. If I ever get distracted by anything in the checkout line it's that sweet sweet sudoku.

I really want to go to one of Germany's red light districts but I'm worried that I'll get caught or it won't be worth it despite being assured by multiple friends who have done it that I should worry about neither.

It's legal in Germany. The question of illegal stems from me having to uphold the notion that American servicemembers are held to a higher standard and cannot partake in prostitution.

That looks excellent, but Berlin is 5 hours away. Frankfurt, Köln, and Trier are better options.

Then there's this place like 40 minutes away: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world ... 86921.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And the places here aren't dull either. 5 floor Eros Centers with girls from all over the place occupy these places. I'm told they are all hot as hell too. And it's inexpensive. If I weren't so paranoid...

If that is your problem with human trafficking, you may be missing the point.

No matter how drunk I was, I don't think I could could go there. The thought of essentially masturbating inside of someone who doesn't want me on top of them isn't appealing. I don't know if i could put that thought out of my head. Even at strip clubs I had a hard time not thinking about how these girls came over from Eastern Europe or South or Central America and are stuck skanking themselves out. I should probably think about how some of them probably make more money than I do. Especially the Russian girls, they don't even try to hide their disdain for everyone and their complete disinterest in what they are doing. They sure can be hot, though. Yet another reason the clubs in Montreal were so great. Most of the girls seem like regular girls doing a job to make some money. Not much different than tending bar or waiting tables. They were actually cool, too. Even the Russian girl.

I met some Canadian strippers during The Yacht Week in Croatia. They take their job as serious as a career up there. That's why they have fun.

And trust me, the military missed the point on everything and runs everything ass backwards. To anyone with half a brain, the moves the top brass makes is ridiculous. One person shits their pants and everyone ends up wearing diapers. If there's an option to retire at 15 years, I'm taking it.

I don't really know why "8 track" is a punch line.

Was it shitty sound, or just the general awkwardness of the format?

I always thought it was because it became obsolete so quickly, and it holds nostalgic significance . Betamax is a punchline in the same way, and from what I've heard and read, it was a superior product, but more people chose VHS, so Betamax became irrelevant.

For a decade, between 2001-2011, the Federal Government handed out 2,200 work visas for women coming to Canada to work as "Exotic Dancers."
http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/exotic- ... -1.1151414

Back when I used to frequent places of adult entertainment (last century), it seemed that every dancer was a student bumping and grinding part time.

Or so they said.

Here in Toronto, the city has done a good job of straddling a line - it licenses "body rub parlours" (aka "rub and tugs") - collects taxes on these businesses and inspects them on a regular basis.

It is kind of weird to see "Massage" or "Spa" in every strip mall, but better to have these things in the open (and therefore safer) than hidden away.

I see very few movies. Some day I'll get some terrible half year illness and catch up on the classics but no time soon. And this one seems like it would be really hard to watch.

We should have a non-movie-off. I may win.

Looking at the IMDb top 50 movie lists for the years 2012 to 2014, I've seen 14 out of 200. That includes a couple kids movies. Only one that I can recall being in a theatre. And only that one seen while I wasn't exercising.

This might be a high point in my movie life, as we've now got a big flat screen and a blu-ray player instead of a 20 inch TV and a VHS player in the room where I lift weights. There were probably similar time periods where I saw 1 or 2 movies.

The one I liked best was Looper. 20 Feet From Stardom had its moments. Around half were pretty much worthless, but served the purpose of entertaining me enough to get some more sets in. The last Iron Man comes to mind. That shark was jumped, then jumped back again.

If it is movies in the last 10 years, I will take on all comers. I have been to the movies once, and it was to see Frozen (in 3-D!) My wife isn't into movies other than Rom-Coms and teenybopper movies, which I will rarely endure. When I have time to watch something without the wife, I try to catch up on DVR'd soccer or watch Breaking Bad.
