For most sports fan kids my age, this is the one and only poem we learned to recite. "And when the dust had settled; and the men saw what had occurred;"

But I don't know if the youngsters were exposed to this bit of culture, with their video games and hippy hop.

How old if I can ask? Maybe it's not as easy as I figured. I'm one of the younger people in here and I knew it instantly, but I've also heard the poem 1000 times.

I meant between me and your oldest. People with as many kids as you are a prime reason I've never felt guilty when the idea that I might not want kids creeps in. Plenty of people got plenty of them, case in point :)

Well given your performance in these threads, if anyone is gonna have a mess of them, you're a better candidate than most. One of them is bound to be able to coach you through subtraction once you get on the show.

I hit both Friday's and Monday's in the studio, although a competitor whispered it into my ear on Friday before I was certain. I'm going to count it, b/c I was leaning that way anyway.

So, the competitors for Friday: Ava I struck up a conversation as she shares the name for my nina. When we were going around for her stories, one was that we interned at NASA, and someone mentioned "wait, we're playing against a literal rocket scientist?" I also thought there was a possibility she was trans by her speaking voice, NTTAWT. Adam was a stand-up guy. His parents sat next to mine in the studio audience.

For Monday, I only spoke to Dom a little bit. Adam (as the returning champ), Julia, and me were all carryovers, the last two of us b/c they always have 2 extra slots to keep it random. In a fit of coincidence, Julia lives in the same town as my kids, and has a niece my daughter's age and a nephew my son's age. So playdates!

And no, I didn't understand her wagering either.

Totally forgot this story from last night. Like I'm assuming anyone who goes into the green room, everyone jokes that they're going to pull a Connery when they're up there, but for the first 6 days and change, there was nothing. Last night's FJ category of "HYMNS" comes up, and when they went to commercial break, someone from our group who will go unnamed said loud enough for us to hear, in Connery voice "Alex, I'll take HYMENS for $400". It was loud enough that the producers seated on the studio in front of us began to chuckle.

Personally I would have handed you a $2,000 head start for WAVING AT ALEX WHEN HE WELCOMED THE NEW PLAYERS. That was great.

I'm sure you're disappointed with the way things went but good job fighting out of the hole, staying alive after that tough DD, and nailing FJ. And having a personality. And being visibly pissed at the buzzer. And concentrating while the lady challenger made us all want to marry her.
