If anyone cares, Rhode Island held it's first state doubles horseshoes championship tonight and a certain Swamper may have won. He promises not to forget the little people though.

Edit: "State doubles championship." My neighbor is actually the state singles champ currently.

Due to an injury, Patrick Swayze could not surf in the movie "Point Break". In addition to having a surfing double, in all close-up scenes of Swayze surfing, he was actually riding a jet-ski.

That was a crazy Stampeders comeback.

In the 2nd game Eskimos vs Lions, TSN just had to apologize for saying 'shit-eatin grin' on tv.

I had forgotten how awesome T&T is. Degen, your T&T is at Pacific Place Mall? At least it was last time I visited your fine town. Ever go? There are a ton of smaller stores around here, of course, including a fantastic Korean grocer one mere kilometer away, but I do like the giganticness of T&T every now and then. And Metrotown (which is also their first location) is less than five minutes by car from here. That is the one major "lacking" over in Victoria; no decent Asian grocery store. None.

Yes the one in Pacific Mall is still there. There is a 2nd T&T open now up in the north in Harvest Hills.

Enter a location and size of nuclear weapon and see what kind of devastation once could expect at that location. If you want to maximize the body count, set it as an airburst detonation.

It blows my mind. If a bomb the North Korean's successfully tested was air-burst over the Empire State Building, if a piece of the building I lived in didn't conk me on the head and the building didn't completely collapse, I would very likely survive. Only to die of thyroid cancer or leukemia a couple of years later.

Went to a hipster flea market and a hipster farmer's market in a gentrifying part of town and all I can say is if that's what hipster artisanal bread tastes like, who cares about a soul patch or ironic hat - stay hip young man.

Killing me!

I used to work in the now "hipster-izing" neighbourhood about 20 years ago - and it was a dumpy part of town. Full of rubbies and the toothless. So, the mere fact that there are now enough safe people around for there to be an artisinal ketchup vendor at a farmer's market is to me a step forward.

However, the hipster diner that we ducked our head into didn't really impress. Honestly, why would you need ten adjectives to describe a tuna melt?

A road sign exists for "Open Ford Ahead" and a navigation system will take you on such a road. I discovered this on Burch's creek near Charlottesville, VA this past weekend. Depth of crossing is variable.

Not my photo, but this is what it looked like:

Armless driver to fight seatbelt ticket
Steven Simonar can't put on a seatbelt, as anyone can plainly see, because he doesn't have arms. However, the 55-year-old can drive with his feet using a modified car, according to the story
.
That reasoning didn't prevent police from writing him a $175 ticket last week. Simonar is enraged that police refused to take his injury into consideration and he says he overheard an officer suggesting he shouldn't drive if he can't buckle up.

Canadian entitlement mentality in action, as usual. If a car can be modified to accommodate an armless driver, it can be modified to have a functioning seatbelt.

If that doesn't work out, he can always get a job as the drummer for a Def Leppard cover band.

Like I said on FB. I was hoping they'd name him "Joffrey."

But it totally makes sense. Escape the wrath of King George in the 18th century to fawn over a future one in the 21st century.

We are so fucked.
