Before I turned 30 when someone met me:

"No kids? No ex-wife? No current girlfriend? And he's a good looking, articulate dude and kind of has an extroverted personality? You think he's gay?"

After I turned 30 when someone meets me:

"No kids? No ex-wife? No current girlfriend? And he's a good looking, articulate dude and kind of has an extroverted personality? That guy has to be gay. HAS TO BE."

Oh, people. :-/

Same here.

Mind you, when you let it be known that you are a straight single guy in San Francisco and environs, it becomes pretty much the easiest pickings you'll ever see.

My Mom has 2 cats and one of them won't associate with me at all, which is fine with me. The other is an orange tabby (is the any other kind of tabby than orange?) and has decided to be my shadow. The last few nights when I've been reading in my LazyBoy Oliver has perched himself on the top of the chair and stretches his front two legs down on my right shoulder. I feel like he should be a parrot or something. He is the strangest cat I've ever seen

Sounds like a cool cat. We have three of them. One is a lap cat, but favors my wife. One is a ten pound black tom who is my buddy (also is buddies with the dog). The third hates me most of the time, but perversely, gets on the bed when I'm about to sleep and cuddles up.

On the "explain it like I'm 5" sub-reddit, someone asked why blister fluid, blood, etc.. are sterile if the human body is riddled with bacteria.
In answering it was explained that bacteria only exists in our digestive tract, if it truly makes it inside our bodies, it is hunted down and exterminated with extreme prejudice by anti-bodies. From a topographical standpoint, the roof of your mouth, the inside of your esophagus, stomach, intestines and colon are the same as your skin.

Also, the tube from your dick-tip to your bladder is considered "outside" as well, though I do not recall specifically where it changes from outside to inside.

Virginia's women's soccer team is undefeated (and untied) and #1 in the country right now. They beat the dynastic UNC women yesterday 2-0. That loss was only the second time the UNC women have lost by more than one goal in 28 years. 690 matches.

Wow.

Both teams were missing their stars as they were beating up on the Roos in San Antonio with the WNT.

In the kidney. The glomerular membrane. Even though on the outside, sterile under normal circumstances (but commonly infected.)

Bronchial spaces of the lung, also on the outside.

I was walking to take public transit (The C-Train) and this bum starts walking along with me and talking. Being the friend to all that I am, I am cool with that, so he's going on and on about pretty well nothing, asking me dumb questions ("how long have you lived here in Red Deer? Hyuk hyuk!), and such; then, after he figures he's established enough of a rapport, he asks me for $20!

TWENTY DOLLARS! Do I look like Croesus? Look, I appreciate the effort in not just randomly asking me for spare change, but if I had $20, would be I be walking like a chump? Go back to Edmonton (he was from Edmonton, gappy mouthed and unkempt), dreamer!

ah Mondays...

Very interesting question.

Vag--definitely outside.

The cervix is the part of the uterus that connects to the vag. There is an opening in the center of the cervix, which is normally closed but allows stuff to pass into and out of the vag. Mucous, menstrual blood, semen, a baby. With temporary dilation of that opening to allow stuff to pass.

One could reasonably argue this is, or is not, the division between inside and outside of the body. However, by the same considerations of the GI and urinary tracks, presence of valves/sphincters/transient openings does not define the 'inside'.

So,the uterus as well as the vag can be considered outside.

The other end of the uterus has two openings, one for each fallopian tube. Again, openings that allow periodic passage of ova. And semen (for the ectopic, or tubal pregnancy).

So, the interior of the fallopian tubes can be considered outside as well. The other end? Well, they are kinda sorta connected to the ovaries. The tissue that connect the distal end of the fallopian tube and the ovary does provide a communication to the inside of the body, the peritoneal cavity.

Unlike the doughnut configuration of the GI tract, or the blind end infolding of the urinary tract, the female genital tract is a direct path to the 'interior' of the body. And a direct path out, for the fertilized ovum/baby, from the interior.

Two organisms that love to take that main line inside are the gonoccocus and the chalmydia bacteria. Once they hit that peritoneal cavity, they cause pelvic inflammatory disease, which can be fatal and fill the entire interior of the belly with pus and infection.

The lesson--girls are filthy, evil and to be avoided by the pure of heart and interior.

There was a nice sized buck lying right in the middle of an off ramp I take on the way to work. He turned his head to look at me as I swerved around him. Just hartbreaking. (sorry)

I'm never really sure if something like that is worth calling 911. I was really hoping I would see a cop driving through town, but never did. I also really hope cerrano wasn't the one who hit him, since he generally takes that same route to work, I was later than usual so he would have been through already, and he's had bad luck with deer in the past.

Plus I had my dog in the car with me because he was going to the kennel to get him out of the house full of people we're going to have today with the elsewhere mentioned delivery of bedroom furniture and furnace repairs, so I got to work (where I could have looked up the number) another 20 minutes later. By that point I just crossed my fingers that my stupid broken furnace didn't get anyone hurt.

I'm driving up to Boston today. I heard on the teevee last night that Obama is coming to town; I figure I leave midmorning I beat the traffic he will cause.

This AM, I go out to move my car for streetcleaning, there are police barricades lining Park Ave. I figure his motorcade will pass through my hood later. My landlord tells me, better than that. Barry is coming to some fund raiser in the building a bunch of super rich folks, including the head of JP Morgan Chase.

Across the fucking street.

I am seriously a bit surprised there has been no cop/SS inquiry or presence in my building as far as I know. Or on my doorstep, as my windows face the rich folks' building. Barry must be visiting some rich fuck whose penthouse is on the other side.

I best be motoring.

Fuck.

A local judge, who is the best judge here and my favorite, got killed last night.

Riding his bike up Millcreek Canyon.

Which I rode up last week.

Which was my first and only ride in any of the local canyons in the last four years, since my wreck.

This sucks on so many levels.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

When I was looking to buy tickets for the NLCS, I was looking at a specific row in the OF because that row has a ton of leg room and you dont have to get up to let people pass by. So I bought the tix I wanted but the scalpers I used (razorgator.com) had double sold the tickets, so they 'upgraded' me a couple of rows up. I figured I had nothing to lose so I called razorgator to complain since, to me, this wasn't really an upgrade. They told me they couldn't help me, but that I should contact paypal and file a claim. I called paypal, filed my claim, and 10 days later I got all of my money back (nearly $400). So, bottom line is I got to go to the game for free.
