There should be a name for that. Like "the Teemu Selanne hat-trick" (circa '93).sancarlos wrote:And, Martin St. Louis scored four goals in a loss. Amazing. Maybe it really is 1984 again.
Don't be depressed the NHL makes it's own bed. The solution is simple, ban fighting like any other normal sport.sancarlos wrote:I am a bit depressed for the NHL, first that the Slapshot-style game-opening brawl even occurred in the Calgary-Vancouver game. But then, reading the comments in the TSN story, most people were actually applauding it. Old time hockey, my ass. That ain't hockey, it's roller derby.
Also of note was that Detroit tied up their game with the Kings on a ricochet off the netting for a late goal. NHL does not review. They really ought to review goals.
And, Martin St. Louis scored four goals in a loss. Amazing. Maybe it really is 1984 again.

Really? What were you expecting then? Because there weren't any hockey players on the ice.“I don’t think anybody expected that,” said Flames defenceman Chris Butler, one of eight players ejected from the game.
Pathetic. But it isn't "staged", right? And that loveydovey business is just an accident. On "Hockey Day In Canada" no less.Calgary heavyweight Brian McGrattan was left bloodied in a fight with Vancouver tough guy Tom Sestito. After the fight Sestito patted McGrattan on the back of the head.
$7.5 million per. Or $1.5 million per goal. $2 million per season more than Vezina-winning Bobrovsky.kranepool wrote:Of course they are. Gaborik's been out.

It was the lead story on ever network newscast in Canada last night. And today, still is. Everyone is pleased to see MSL going to Sochi but was there anyone on the planet that really thought Stamkos was going to be fit enough?rass wrote:St. Louis to replace Stamkos on team Canada.

I agree but Seabrook shoots right and remember he was a disaster in the Vancouver games, so much so 21 year old Drew Doughty took over most of his minutes.Scottie wrote:Excellent!degenerasian wrote:Scottie: news out of Vancouver is that Hamhuis has a conclusion and is questionable to fly to Sochi.

It'll be Brent Seabrook, if anyone.
