Same thing happened to me senior year. A buddy of mine and I got MIPs at a football game. Had in-school suspension for a week and then had a week of hell during the pre-season basketball practices. One of those where the guys hung around after practice to see what our punishment was and then respectfully left the gym after seeing what we were in store for.sancarlos wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 10:50 am Red Mountain Pass between Ouray and Silverton is an awesome drive.
Almost got kicked off the wrestling team after our football team bus (with coaches onboard) drove past a couple of us walking out of a Ouray liquor store with a couple twelve-packs in our arms. What a day that was.
Finished this today...and it was really good! Highly recommended!DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 3:10 pm I started this one last night, and stayed up too late reading (of course, it being close to 90 degrees was a factor):
Nothing weighty, but a fun read so far.
There goes grandpa sancarlos yelling at clouds again.rass wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:41 pm Horrible effort at beach reading the last two weeks. Not sure what happened - I’ve had years where the kids needed to be handheld at the water’s edge where I read more.
Alright x3 (Dazed and Confused history) was great. Quit on this because the fucking print was too small for all but perfect sunlight and I forgot my reading glasses, and switched to Rog Bennett’s book. Has it been mentioned somewhere (not here necessarily) how much young Rog looks like Vanessa Bauer’s Bar Mitzvah boy? Must have been.
*Enjoyed as far as I got in the YR book because I had no idea how intertwined some of those 70s acts were.
I read that book a few years ago, while I was on a literature kick.EdRomero wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 3:18 pmThere goes grandpa sancarlos yelling at clouds again.rass wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:41 pm Horrible effort at beach reading the last two weeks. Just finished Updike's Rabbit, Run. Meh. I really get annoyed by books not broken up into chapters. I suppose it was good but I have no motivation to read anything else by him.
Read this based on your rec and it was very good, even if I kind of saw where the book was going. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, given the plot. In fact, I think maybe you're supposed to see it coming? I dunno. I've just had some weed so maybe I'm reading too much into the author's intentions.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 10:39 pmFinished this today...and it was really good!
