Pruitt....got a vocal laugh from your FB comment on the Austin Greaser (UNC Amateur playing) bag pic. Did not even notice that when I was looking at the pictures.

Not a golf person....but damn, does Augusta look amazing in hi-def on a big screen TV.
And I'd lay money that Tiger will play well for the first two days, and then his back/legs/knee will totally flare up on him. Same thing happens to Freddie Couples pretty much every year.

I’d love to know how many golf maintenance employees they retain to get the course ready. It has to be multiple dozens. It doesn’t look like there are any misplaced blades of grass anywhere.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 1:59 pm Not a golf person....but damn, does Augusta look amazing in hi-def on a big screen TV.
For comparison’s sake, the course I work at has four full-time golf maintenance staffers and has anywhere from three to eight seasonal employees working at any given morning. But they probably have a slightly higher maintenance budget than we do.

A couple of buddies have been down there and followed a pairing at least for one day. They said you'll never really understand just how hilly and taxing the course is... Golf Channel guys tend to bring this up and I think ppl get tired of hearing it and blow it off. It's one of the hardest courses to walk on the tour, no question.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 1:59 pm Not a golf person....but damn, does Augusta look amazing in hi-def on a big screen TV.

This MFer played two rounds at the US open on a torn ACL. Not saying it won't be hard, but Couples was nowhere near the competitor nor athlete that Tiger is.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 1:59 pm Not a golf person....but damn, does Augusta look amazing in hi-def on a big screen TV.

Re: Augusta 2022
So, as noted, Matthew Wolff had a horrible day at the Masters, today. Here’s how it went for him last year at Augusta.
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Matthew Wolff was disqualified from the Masters following the second round after it was discovered he signed for a score lower than what he actually made on No. 17.
Wolff opened with a 76 and continued those struggles on Friday. He made a quintuple-bogey 8 at the first hole and was 6 over for the day, and well outside the cut, when he made the turn. He finished with a second-round 79, officially making bogey on the 17th.

So golf superintendents and others apply to work at Augusta prior to the tournament to work for free just so they can say they worked at Augusta. It's a waiting list and you have to be interviewed...Sabo wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 2:11 pmI’d love to know how many golf maintenance employees they retain to get the course ready. Re: Augusta 2022
Add in a small army of high school kids walking around picking up anything that is not right and throwing it away. Not so much garbage but even little bits of sod that got pulled up or a leaf not flower petal. Then they gave the yellow hat volunteers all over the place and folks watching over both of those groups. It is like a casino operation.Mulligan wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 7:20 pmSo golf superintendents and others apply to work at Augusta prior to the tournament to work for free just so they can say they worked at Augusta. Watching on the Masters website - they have a feature where you can watch a bunch of golfers of your choice - never miss a shot.
I've got 8 guys in my list, and when one isn't shooting, it defaults to either one of the leaders or a great shot.
They must have, what, 200 cameras there? Incredible. Not many years ago, Augusta would only let CBS show the last 6 or 7 holes.

That's my thought watching the masters this last 5 years. Hell, the fact that they convinced Augusta to allow for that Tiger Woods EA game. I used to play that game NON-STOP, and part of the joy was seeing holes you really hadn't seen like that before.
Loved that game. Maybe I should try and dig that out and see if I have a platform to play it... Was that 360?
