Bed sweats all day. 4 showers. Throat. Soreness. Hot and cold at same time. Don't even need the test. Not terrible but definitely laid out. Can't sleep though. Just want the next day or two to go quick

One of our nieces had it for a second time a couple of weeks ago (first was just before Christmas so that chunk of the family missed celebrating the holiday with everyone) and her mom (my wife’s sister) just tested positive for the first time yesterday. She thinks she picked it up not from her kid but from a friend she spent part of the weekend with. Our nephew’s college graduation party is off for this weekend.

This is all feeling pertinent because we’re just about at the 3 month mark from when it ran through our house. Magic shield gone.

I don't think Omicron cares about past infections. At least that's what anecdotal evidence around here tells me.

So, my daughter started her first post-college job Tuesday. Gave rides to/from work to a friend. Friend then tests positive. Now, my daughter is showing symptoms. (Rapid test negative, so far but…)
Sooo… she’s working from home and trying to rest. Shit.

Shit is bad here. All the employees have had in last two weeks. I probably gave one one but the other two found it on their own. All gas.

Just about everyone at the wedding we were at last weekend ended up getting it. Somehow the GF and I dodged it.

My son got it, right after we left Denver. At the time, we were annoyed we didn't get to see him much while out there, but in hindsight....

Anyone have recurring night sweats continuing after COVID? That was one of my big symptoms and I still get them 2-3 times a week, despite changing just about everything about how I sleep to try to avoid them.

But my couch!

I feel like I've had some night sweats going on this summer, and have been sleeping pretty fitfully the past month or two. But that would have all started a good month post-COVID. Enough time that I hadn't really connected all this to COVID, thought it was just either work stress or getting old.

Yup. Finally got me and the wife. And right in the middle of our honeymoon in the Bahamas that we've been waiting over 2 years to go on because of COVID/deployment/military assignment..etc. too.

We're home now, but all of a sudden out of nowhere I started feeling like shit Wednesday and then it got worse on Thursday. Either we got it just before we left or just after we arrived. Basically kept us from doing anything the last couple days.

I was really hoping to escape it completely, but that didn't happen. And I thought I'd be one of the lucky ones without symptoms because I felt nothing during my 2 vax and 1 booster shots. Oh well.

889 days and just got my first bout. I'm feeling no symptoms that I know of, but I'm in a community theater production that was supposed to open tonight and we just canceled opening weekend because of four positives. Then they asked everyone else to test, and boom, it got me. We had been rehearsing in masks for the last three months and went mask-free on Tuesday for the first time. We had three positive cast members during that time. I thought we should've went maskless weeks ago so that if this happened, it wouldn't mess up performances, but I didn't want to get into a mask argument with anyone so I just toed the line.

Legally Blonde, lots of characters but mainly Kyle the UPS guy. Not my first choice of roles, but I hadn't done anything in over three years so I just needed to get back out there. It's been fun just working on something again. Now, if we can only get it up on stage. I believe the cast is up to 8 positives now. I starting getting mild symptoms on Saturday (including passing out yesterday morning) but I'm much better today. I just don't think we're going to have enough negative tests before Friday and even if we do perform, we're going to be masked, which will definitely take away from it a bit. This really sucks.

Wood and his fellow organizers have been planning an ambitious Fourth of July gathering at Lake Sacajawea ever since the Go 4th Festival Committee canceled the annual three-day celebration about two months ago. Due to state COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings, city officials have stressed that Wood’s event is not permitted, but they have not moved to shut it down or to forcibly stop organizers.
It gets better/worse...
But the event received perhaps its biggest boost this month when organizers announced country music star Lee Greenwood will perform. Greenwood is set to play at 7 p.m. Saturday, according to his concert schedule on Facebook.
Yep...willing to die...for Lee fucking Greenwood...
He’s playing the music pier down here later in the week. If the swamp wants to pitch in and comp me a ticket I’ll report live. Or I’ll stand outside on the boardwalk and see if I can hear PtbaA without paying. Rapturous, to be sure.

Selfishly I’ve never been in the pier and want to go. Was sorely tempted by Gordon Lightfoot earlier this summer. If he had played these past two weeks….

My wife and I haven’t caught Covid yet. But we attended a small backyard get-together at the neighbors’ place Friday night. This morning, the host tells us he just tested positive. We both spent a fair bit of time chatting with him that night.

Guess I’ll get tested tomorrow. (I have no symptoms.)

This former friend of mine (who's also an Arbonne Hun and Born Again Christian) is literally separating as a Chief Master Sergeant instead of getting the vaccine.

Absolutely dumbfounding. She made it to E-9 (I only made it to E-6, for reference) really quick and she's just going to throw it all away.

But apparently they're financially good because her and her husband just bought a brand new Range Rover and she must be killing the MLM game.

I don't get it.

From the ghost following I've been doing over the last couple months, literally getting the COVID vaccine would've saved her career.

She's been posting on her stories -- in uniform -- sharing anti vaccine links and being a complete tool about it.

It's nuts. And when I see that that kind of person is who made Chief in the AF, it annoys me. How many young people has she influenced and "led" that she set an example for? Just frustrating.

But hey. No retirement benefits or anything for her. I still have that.

Covid got me after 30 months of avoidance.

Tested positive early yesterday after a day or so of feeling like allergies were acting up.

Like a bad head cold with just a hint of wonky head. Glad I got it after 4 vaccines.

Not offering it for my age group yet. Just thankful I've had 4 shots - 4/5 days in and it really hasn't gotten worse - coughed a lot at night, but all else is manageable. Even taking my beast out for a walk in a bit.

BUT - my wife just tested positive. My peaceful quarantine man/cave has been invaded.
