Stevie G....sacked!
Guess that means he's no longer next in line at Liverpool.

This whole hiring ex-players with no experience doesn't really seem to work at the Premier League level.

Re: EPL 2022/2023
Will be interesting to see if former Blackpool manager Neil Critchley - who left the Pool to become Gerrard's assistant - will get a shot at the gig. Probably not, and I imagine they'll go after a big name like Poch, Dyche or Tuchel.
THERE’S NOWT WRONG WITH GALA LUNCHEONS, LAD!
Re: EPL 2022/2023
Scotland is single A ball except for Rangers and Celtic who might be AAA.

If Nottingham Forest fail to beat Liverpool this weekend, there will have been three British PMs since they last won a match.
Re: EPL 2022/2023
Not to jinx them with 10 minutes left but wish I’d checked the score before I walked downtown for a cup of coffee.
I felt aswirl with warm secretions.
Re: EPL 2022/2023
The end of that Man U-Chelsea game was a gut punch. I mean, Man U was probably the better team for most of the game, but to give up 2 points in the final 2 minutes of a game ... by less than inch. Tough.
BTW, that's the best, most organized and energetic I've seen Man U look in a few seasons at least.
Chelsea is just barely holding on with all these games and so many injuries. James and Kante, probably their two best field players, out for a while. Fofana and Koulibaly also out with knee problems and Kovacic has been playing hurt. It's making them have to constantly rotate their lineups and formations, leading to poor continuity. Kind of amazing the results they've gotten the past few weeks, because they haven't really looked that great (except Kepa who's been fantastic in goal).

Totally Kafkaesque

Oh my, Spurs suck so badly right now.
Conte's insistence on playing his "system" when it means that players like Emerson Royal and Ryan Sessegnon who can not cross the ball are playing as wingers makes me wonder about him.

I'd be very surprised if Marsch lasts to the weekend. Dropped into the relegation zone and it's all just gotten very sloppy.

Unai Emery is back......with Villa
Re: EPL 2022/2023
In the scores section of the Yahoo sports app, they abbreviate each team name to three letters (such as WHU for West Ham United).
I’m always stumped when I see AFC, because I never remember it’s their dumb abbreviation of AFC Bournemouth.

He's pretty much OK if they can claw up out of constant relegation danger. Maybe not long-term, but the pressure release from that turn is MASSIVE on the team and the coaching staff.

The post-game show was thinking that if they can beat Bournemouth next weekend, he should be safe until the transfer window. He's pretty much OK if they can claw up out of constant relegation danger. Re: EPL 2022/2023
And that's why you take it to the corner and work the clock. Ipswich was pushing forward with speed despite the lead, and lost the ball in the box going for another goal. If they work it into the corner and chew the clock, they win. Hometown announcers were great.

I bailed on this game after the 3rd Bournemouth goal.
Incredible.
(They can't keep playing D like this... it's shambolic.)
ETA - Just went back and looked at the table... Leeds are now 3 points above the drop zone, but sitting in 12th place. The relegation battle this year is going to be insane.

I need a crowd of Leeds supporters at the office when I hit send on a Motion etc. Could use that kind of uplift on a workday.

My best friend from high school texted me a pic this morning and said “guess where I am”. Motherfucker was at Anfield.
He’s not even a soccer fan. He’s visiting his daughter who’s doing a semester in Liverpool.

And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Arsenal 5 points clear going into the WC!!! Unbelievable. Just hope they don’t lose momentum taking a 6 week break. So fucking stupid playing a WC in November. Fuck FIFA.

Re: EPL 2022/2023
Not surprised, but fucks sake he has no self awareness. He’s been awful this year. Awful. The team looks much better without him. Only a small subset of the fans like him. And like it or not, ETH will he given the chance to build the team as he sees fit. CR is not the manager, nor will he be. Fucks sake, he’s walked out on his teammates early TWICE this year, and only got a slap on the wrist. Then cries about being disrespected.
I wanted him to fuck off when he first left for Madrid and was happy to see him go then. I was hoping when he came back that he would have matured. Dumb.
