I wonder what they turkey vulture thought when I watched it eat a squirrel yesterday.
Probably nothing. Birds are dumb.

Re: Hey, Sabo.
WOO FUCKING HOO. Finally ID'd a bird who has been at the feeder a bunch this week out front. Was driving me nuts because it wasn't showing up on the Merlin Bird App from Cornell. Finally figured out why, needed to adjust list of possible birds to include "rare" - it is 100% a red headed woodpecker. Absolutely gorgeous. He just came back again. Been about a year with the feeders here now and you definitely notice when a new one shows up.

Red-headed woodpeckers are gorgeous. I don’t see them very often around here but they are quite striking when you see them.
I haven’t done much birdwatching in the last year or so, but I’m going to try to be more observant over the next few months because of migration season. Northern Ohio - especially just east of Toledo - is a major birding hotspot during migration.

We get a few each summer at our feeders at the cabin. They’re awesome.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Walking out of the medical center with my dad this morning, a roadrunner walked right past us. Bigger than I would have thought. Pretty cool. Couldn’t get a decent photo before he left though.
