Yes. And the first name I think of if you asked for a generic sitcom actor. I looked at his IMDB page, and I was shocked he only has 95 acting credits. I would have guessed he was one of those guys with 200 credits.Steve of phpBB wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 11:08 amWasn't he notorious as the kiss of death for any show?

Re: Television (no longer temporary)
He's just always had a distinctive face, imo. (But in fairness I'm also one of those people with absurd recognition recall for faces.*)
So I can totally see why others could forget this guy if they haven't seen him for a long time.
Edit:
*For example, the security guard who almost throws Tim Robbins off of the roof in Shawshank Redemption is the same guy that 'officiates' the duel scene in John Wick 4. That's almost 30 years apart and I instantly recognized him.
His name is Clancy Brown and he's been in a bunch of stuff in between, mostly voice actor stuff, according to IMDB, but I don't think I've seen him that much elsewhere. (Except in Billions.)

He also played a character in a video game (Detroit something) where it was just him. He did all the mocap and everything, or at least for the facial parts. I know lots of stupid shit!

Enjoying Yellowjackets but my suspension of disbelief keeps getting hung up on the actress playing teenage Juliette Lewis having much bigger boobs than Juliette Lewis.

If you’re looking for the single-most underrated half hour of scripted comedy ever I present S2S4 (“Trevor”) of Detroiters. You don’t even really have to know anything about the characters or show.

Yeah, heavy's a good word. I would say 95% of everything on the show is born out of something terrible but it's almost never a bummer.

It’s really sad when female celebrities seek to deform their appearance as they age. It’s such an indictment of what we value as a culture. Hello Beverly D’Angelo.

When I watched, I didn't realize there was still one more episode yet to drop. I was really annoyed by the sudden bizarre ending, now I see there is one more episode. That makes me happy. Glad I accidentally hit on Shrinking and saw there was a new episode.sancarlos wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 12:01 amIt does get heavy at times and it’s a bit talky, but hey, it’s a decent comedy.Steve of phpBB wrote: ↑Sat Apr 01, 2023 10:19 pm We were thinking of starting Shrinking. Speaking of Apple TV, I started watching Hello Tomorrow. I can't tell if I like it or not. It's so damned weird. It's set in an alternative reality 1950's full of Jetson's-like technology. The characters act like 1950s sitcom characters, the story and writing is intentionally superficial. It's weird. The story isn't all that compelling, but I feel the need to keep watching for some reason. There is a strange quality to the show that reminds me of the weirdness in Severance when they are at work. I'm halfway through, so I'll finish it and see if it was worth the journey or not.

Yes, she is.
And to keep the Scrubs angle going, Zach Braff directed one of the episodes.

I watched it too and I feel the same way…can’t tell if I like it or not. I love the acting of Billy Crudup and Hank Azaria is always great but I’m not sure on the story. I guess weird yet captivating is a good way to describe it.The Sybian wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 10:00 am Speaking of Apple TV, I started watching Hello Tomorrow. I can't tell if I like it or not. Re: Television (no longer temporary)
That is the perfect description. I think I am more drawn to something being unique or interesting than just good. Crudup is terrific, and his weird smile fits the character perfectly. It's a little frustrating seeing Azaria lowkey and as a side character.GoodKarma wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 12:22 pmI watched it too and I feel the same way…can’t tell if I like it or not.
