When it's really warm and humid in the summer I make my own gravy.
No bell peppers.

Feel like green bell peppers would overwhelm everything else going on in breakfast gravy the same way they overwhelm everything else they get included in.

"Foods/flavors that overtake all others" would be a good topic. I don't like when maple syrup is added to anything that isn't meant to be explicitly maple-y for that same reason.

Here’s one. “Cheese” chips like potato chips, Cheetos, Doritos, pita chips, and the like are grossly disappointing. Not only is the flavoring not cheese — and I’m at a point in my life where I don’t eat “cheese product” instead of the real McCoy — but they also put so much on it drowns out the dip. Fuck Cheetos.

Not that I’m particularly a fan or anything, but I don’t think Cheetos are meant to be dipped. For one thing, half the cheese product is going to remain in the dip.

Funny, but just this afternoon I had Cheetos at our neighborhood end of school year pool party and really wanted to dip it in some sour cream dip that was on the table, but knew it would leave a bunch of powder in there.

I'm not dipping a flavored chip. Doritos, Cheetos, Sour Cream and Onion, Bar-b-Que, etc, etc etc are wonderful... They are not for dipping.

Pretty sure this idea was borne out of the fact that people have been using Doritos as their chip of choice for nachos way before Pepsi Co had the idea.

Ooh, that gives me an excuse to buy some Doritos to test that out.

My mom always put paprika in cottage cheese. I think Doritos would have a similar effect, plus crunchiness.

Yeah, at least you could see the six tiny dots of cheese-flavored powder in the communal dip bowl, unlike who knows how many double-dippers have been there before you without leaving any evidence. After all, a random chip crumb could have just gotten there from someone else's fresh chip breaking off.
