Will Watt, who covers Blackpool FC for the Blackpool Gazette, is reporting the guy who made the Suarez bite bet is a Blackpool fan. The fan in question has a Twitter account at @Syvers11. Looking through that guy's tweets, he also likes poker.

Not just the defender, one of the midfielders pulled a Bradley.

What happened in that game at the end... Ivory Coast did something so much more egregious. SO MUCH MORE. They had huge numbers in the other team's half, and instead of passing it around and killing the last 30-60 seconds, they conspired to go to goal and take an incredibly weak shot right at the keeper. And then most of those guys don't get back... They gave the Greeks 60-70 yards, free, no pressure... Walking back on D. They allowed that cross into the box with virtually no pressure.

That was a STUNNING display in the final minute by Ivory Coast.

Yep, and the clear foul in the box was just an utterly stupid move.

Pruitt wrote:The announcer we got for that game here in Canada kept saying that there wasn't any contact on that penalty. While Samaras did make it look worse than it was, he was kicked.

By still, this guy kept insisting that it was a non-existent foul.

And this reminds me of something I notice at this stage of most big tournaments. Since Canadian broadcasters pick up the English feeds, we hear a lot of the English announcers. And if you take away the accent, some of them are little better than alan Partridge level.

Wow. I don't even think Samaras made a meal of that... at all. He was trying to put wood on that ball, and Sio got right into the back of his kicking leg, which caused the "trip a kid on the playground" type of flying in the air from Samaras.

Absolutely a PK, no question on any level.

Or have Honduras somehow peg one back while Ecuador score. Neither of which looks likely at this point.

Looking at the names of the Swiss team ... who knew that Switzerland was such a melting pot?

It's jarring, like the Germans relying on Miroslav and Mesut and Podolski.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Luckily Honduras was able to hold onto that 0-3 deficit and stay ahead of Cameroon for 32nd place.

Switzerland has 4 official languages because it borders so many countries. And was a haven for all the war deserters during WWI and WWII.

So .. Honduras beat Canada by 7 goals when trying to qualify for the Hex ... and then went 0-3 in the group stage.

I can accurately extrapolate that we would have gone 0-21.

Ghana manager Kwesi Appiah kicked Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng off the team this morning, shortly after all the Ghana players received a $3 million (total) bonus from the Ghanian president. Apparently KPB got into a shouting match with Appiah, and Muntari allegedly assaulted a member of Ghana's management committee.

Ghana winning and us losing is the straightest way to sadness for us. They can win by one and us lose by one, and we are ok. But if they win by two and we lose, we are hosed. Or if they win by one and we lose by two or more we are hosed.

Ghana tying or losing is really for the best.

Portugal could still catch us but needs to make up a goal differential of 5. Let's hope not.

We do not want ghana (or portugal for that matter) to win. A draw for those two is our best case. A win by either coupled with a US loss would mean it could come down to goal differential.

Definitely, but I can't rule out Ronaldo pulling a show like he did against Sweden in the playoff, even on a bum leg. Then all it would take is a 2 goal win by Germany.

It still doesn't help Italy who are on a plane home. FIFA really should have kicked the whole team out especially after comments from coach and captain

captain Lugano: "Chiellini is less of a man for crying and photoshoping pictures"
coach Tavares: "This is a football tournament, not a place for morality"
