So what's the deal with that guy? You must be some kind of fucked up to get dropped for less than a first rounder with his talent. Can't just be the injuries. Does he fake them? Got to be on that level to make this move.

After he has his first good game, the Jets can deal him to the Raiders for three first-round picks. It may not even take a good game. Just a few fly routes run without serious injury.

Ha! This was a big surprise opening this thread. So rare to see a mid season trade. Jets are so desperate at WR, it isn't much of a gamble.

One source confirmed a report that Harvin had gotten into an altercation with former Seahawk Golden Tate before the Super Bowl that resulted in Tate getting a black eye.

A source also said Harvin had an altercation with Seattle receiver Doug Baldwin in the week leading up to the final exhibition game this August at Oakland that resulted in Baldwin getting a cut on his chin and each player being excused from practices that week. Harvin, who did not practice for two days before that game, did not make the trip to Oakland for what the team said at the time was “a personal matter.”

One final straw, a league source said, came in Sunday’s 30-23 loss to Dallas when Harvin apparently balked at going back into the game in the fourth quarter.

Soon as I heard about the trade, I just knew there had to be something disciplinary going on. The Seahawks know what they are doing, while clearly the Jets do not. A 4th or 6th rounder is basically saying "just get this guy out of here." And as a bonus for the Jets, Harvin missed most of last season with a hip injury, he has concussion problems and has also missed games due to migraines.

I think the Seahawks may have been more patient if it wasn't for his contract (and all the guys they need to re-sign). It's a pretty good gamble by the Jets and not worthy of the extreme bashing the trade is getting.

Jets don't have much to lose. Late draft picks are a complete crapshoot. A locker room cancer can't do much to sabotage a 1 -6 season.

Yeah but he didn't have much choice. His defense was spent and if Seattle retrieves the punt at even their own 35 with a full 2 minutes left, they only have to go 25 yards to set up the winning FG.

Right. It was a ballsy call and he deserves credit, but it's the kind of move the head coach of a 1-4 team should be making all the time.

So yes indeed, the Lions played. And they won in the last minute with a great pass to Fuller, after being down 13 points with 6 minutes left. They won even though Calvin didn't play, and Bush and Pettigrew got hurt. They won even though the street tight end who is playing at their deepest position bounced a ball off his hands and to a Saints defender. They won even though their third kicker bounced a 21 yard field-goal off the uprights, and it went in.

Sorry to disappoint. I thought about noting the sarcasm, as my living in a cave causes a lack of knowledge of very commonly known things. Fantasy football keeps me following the NFL, and the Jets keep my NFL time focused away from the Jets.

To add, while everyone on FOX and ESPN has been sucking at the Romoteet for the last 18 hours and anointing the Cowboys as the next dynasty, I'd like to see the team that wants to try and give Indianapolis a game right now. I have to enjoy the ride right now because I assume our defense is going to eventually beam back to their home planet and leave us hanging with that shitty one we've had for 15 years or so. I'll remain content to fly under the radar for now, but this team is very, very good.
