I thought about posting a shorter version of this, but figured I'd spare the Swamp from having to listen to her. How the fuck does she have a show? She just yells in the most annoying imaginable voice. and is apparently dumb as fuck! Is this an act, or is she really that dumb that she doesn't realize she has no point. It isn't even something you can disagree with, there is no point. A video of a parent giving a kid weed. Is she claiming that happened because weed is legal? Just because he doesn't think kids should smoke weed, he must then believe nobody should? He doesn't let his kids drink soda, does that mean he should also believe soda should be illegal?

My daughter showed me this after school today. She knows little of the Kennedy brothers or King. Just that bad people killed them. She doesn't really get this speech. I related it to what people do to her in the lunch room in middle school.

I yield to no one in cynicism about American politics. That certainly includes just about everything about the Kennedy family. But I have to say, this is certainly one hell of a political speech. And his words are made even more chilling by the fact that just 63 days later Robert Kennedy was laying dead on the floor of a hotel kitchen.

I was 11 years old. I remember the first time I heard that speech. The first political campaign I 'worked' on was that one, the Cali primary. I got permission to ditch school at noon to go see him speak, a few weeks after that speech.

And he was gunned down. And, my cynicism was born. Been trying to keep up ever since (and failing.)

I handed out some Goldwater fliers at one of his campaign stops. But by '68 I was fully radicalized. I knew there was no significant difference between Nixon and Humphrey. Since then the same pair have kept running every four years under different guises, with roughly the same degree of differentiation from a long-term perspective.

I bought Super Bowl tickets but decided to keep them and stay home. I debated going, but decided that since they don't show the commercials in the stadium, and rather watch on my high tech TV. I tried to sell the tickets, but nobody would take them, even when I dropped the price to $10. Mostly because Patriots fans have no interest in travelling to the Super Bowl, proven by the sharp decrease in Patriots fans attending the last 2 Super Bowls. Fox Business analysts can't explain the sharp decrease in the number of Pats fans attending in 2012 versus the following 2 years.

Attendance hasn't reached 100,000 since whatever year? How big do they think most stadiums are?

Oh, I know that, I just didn't feel like looking it up. I meant that the reason attendance hasn't hit 100,000 since the Dallas SB is because no other NFL stadium is that big. Sure, attendance is "only" 80,000 or whatever, but that is stadium capacity.

What in the fuck. The thing is that the way he's acting here is indistinguishable from when he plays a "wacky" guy in movies. I wonder if this is going to turn out to be some sort of prolonged performance art like Joaquin Phoenix did a few years back, but taken to a whole new level.

I'm too lazy to track it down, but there have been a few longform stories on that couple. This has been going on for many many years and there is zero chance it's a bit. They are both batshit crazy.

randy Quaid was all over the news up here a few years ago when he applied for political asylum in Canada as a refugee about five years ago. It was a kind of funny story for a bit until people realized that he was completely nuts. And not quirky crazy, or doing performance art silly, but 100% off his meds, unable to distinguish realty messed up.

Soon thereafter, he faded into obscurity with occasional reports of him being seen around Vancouver.

Not ending well for good old Ish.
