Hi, Swamp. This is just going to be a quick pop-in, but I thought a few of you might be amused by this, so I'll leave it here.

A friend of mine has an unhealthy fixation on Dan Dierdorf. Every year around this time, Dierdorf references start peppering his emails. Today he mentioned that likes to insert Dierdorf's name into book and movie titles: A Dierdorf Runs Through It, The Unbearable Lightness of Dierdorf, etc.

So I took the inevitable next step and looked at television schedules from the 1990s. Comedy ensued.

These are all pretty great, but the hands-down winner has to be the aforementioned Touched by a Dierdorf. I'm still giggling. I could do this all day.

We did this with placenta a few years back. We were at a bar when Live's "Lightning Crashes" came on and my buddy says, "this is the third best song with the word placenta with it." That cracked us up and it morphed into this same exact game. I was between marriages at the time and whenever I'd meet a girl this was one of the first stories I told. I could tell by their reaction if I'd have any interest beyond banging.

A few years ago, I moderated a hockey fan-fiction subReddit called Versteeg and the Fury. Faulkner titles also work well with football announcers: The Sound and the Dierdorf.
