I'm not going to sit here and complain that Schwarber got called out on a pitch outside the zone in the same spot that Wheeler didn't get. But for fuck's sake. Just be consistent.

I can't believe they gave Olson a hit on that. The inning should've been over if Hoskins could just be an average fielder.

Absolutely. After the Swanson catch, it just felt like it was not going to be our night.
Re: MLB Postseason 2022
Wheeler getting pulled makes me think he gets the nod in Game 5 if it goes that far.

Re: MLB Postseason 2022
The Riley and Swanson ridiculously great plays and Hoskins' misplay are the difference this game. Everyone knew fielding would be the Phils' downfall this year and they're not outhitting it tonight.cerranoredux wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 8:31 pmAbsolutely. Its a lot easier to overlook a guy going 0fer in 4 postseason games when he doesn’t cost you the game in the field *cough* Schwarber *cough*.Reaper wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 8:57 pmThe Riley and Swanson ridiculously great plays and Hoskins' misplay are the difference this game. Re: MLB Postseason 2022
Maybe try not pitching to Alvarez...
Re: MLB Postseason 2022
A lot of teams have plans to pitch to the one or two guys you absolute do not want to beat you. And then you have the Mariners.
![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Seriously. Alvarez hit two pitches these past two games that absolutely should not have been called/thrown.

If I'm a Cleveland fan, I'm certainly thinking that's the play I'm going to remember if the Yankees advance. 9 times out of 10, the pitcher tips that and there's no play anywhere.

Home plate ump thinks Stanton is like 5'4".

Bob Costas calling Shane Bieber “Justin Bieber” is at best only his second worst verbal blooper of his career.

I like Judge as a person and a player. Just getting ready for the “narrative” contrasting him with the “clutch” Jeter.

This is when I miss old George Steinbrenner. He’d be calling him, “Mr. May”, like he was Dave Winfield!

Someone is as touchy as AB at a Dockers outlet store.
I felt aswirl with warm secretions.
Re: MLB Postseason 2022
Why not focus on the positive? The Yankees now have their excuse to let him go.

Morton out after 2. Looks like his elbow tightened-up after the Bohm shot. Still a lot of baseball to be played.
Re: MLB Postseason 2022
Is that Smoltz giving the color commentary where he's got Acuna on full blast for not backing up the CF on that inside the park HR? I mean, yeah, Acuna's got a job to do there, but holy crap, Harris was not getting to that ball at all. Had he played the carom off the wall Realmuto's jogging into 2B instead of steaming around it towards 3rd.

They may lose the series...but the M's did something right today:
Felix finally gets to pitch in a postseason game.

Re: MLB Postseason 2022
Lukewarm take: if the Mariners were even slightly better during his reign, Felix sails into Cooperstown.

Re: MLB Postseason 2022
So apparently it's drought season in the PNW and as such there are still fires raging in the Cascades. That's likely why the sun-to-shade camera angles seem even more extreme today.

Yup. Or if he had a blowout injury versus trying for four years to get back. 50+ WAR before he even turned 30.

Yeah, there are 3 fires currently. Its been smoky in Seattle for about a month now.
Re: MLB Postseason 2022
Clearly it's affecting the hitters more so than the fielders. Altuve was waving at crap he never takes the bait on.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 6:29 pmYeah, there are 3 fires currently. Its been smoky in Seattle for about a month now.

13 hits and 33 strikeouts. Only 14 pitchers so far though, which is actually not as bad as it could be.
