Today I learned that walnuts also come in a red variety. Bought some walnuts in the shell at the farmer's market this morning, and was pretty surprised when I cracked one and the meat was red!
Red Walnuts are not genetically modified. Instead, they were created using natural methods of grafting Persian red-skinned walnuts onto larger and creamier English walnuts.

No idea why I didn't put 2 and 2 together sooner. But the John Green of the YouTube channel the Vlog Brothers is the same one that authored The Fault In Our Stars and Looking For Alaska.

Would have been so much better if the coconut had gone through a barbershop window.

And sponsors AFC Wimbledon (a set of stands are named after him).

That kinda creeps me out. Injecting radio signals right into my head seems worse that even using a cell phone.

It's really helpful when you and your co-workers share a small fleet of vehicles and park in football stadium parking lots with less-than-ideal record keeping as to where the previous driver parked.

I remember being told to hold my fob to my chin for longer range, and it working. Had no idea why.

It definitely strengthens the signal.

Years ago, I borrowed a friends pickup truck to bring debris to the local trash dump. The local station is underneath a TV antenna farm - basically the highest part of the city.

Car alarm went off and I couldn’t get the key fob to work. The guy working at the place told me to hold it under my chin and press the button. Worked like a charm. Never thought about why/how but definitely cool to know it extends the range as well.

I do this constantly and my wife makes fun of me for it. Though I remember being told to hold it under my chin and open my mouth, as the fillings in my teeth helped send out a stronger signal, nothing about water molecules.

No the way the question was asked was
"Soviets dictator" Joseph Stalin died on Mar 5, 1953. The US first learned about his death by decrypting Soviet radio messages. The lowly airman who decrypted the first messages telling of Stalin's later went on be a successful musical performer. Who was this nondescript radioman who later rose to fame.

The airforce radio manager feels very country movie biopic.

What Do the Colors on Bread Tags Mean?

These color-coded tags that close the bread bag indicate the date the bread was baked and packaged. It helps staff keep track of what was baked when, so they can rotate out older loaves as needed. Most grocery stores follow the schedule below:

Monday – Blue
Tuesday – Green
Thursday – Red
Friday – White
Saturday – Yellow

Wondering where Wednesday and Sunday are? Most bread bakeries take a production break on those days.

How Can I Remember the Schedule of Color-Coded Bread Tags?

Now that you know that the color-coded tags actually mean something, how can you remember which color means which day? Luckily there is an easy way to remember the schedule. The colors correspond to weekdays in alphabetical order: Blue (Monday), Green (Tuesday), Red (Thursday), White (Friday), then Yellow (Saturday).

The lady who created the Phillie Phanatic
1.) Created Stadler and Waldorf (Muppets)
2.) Offered the rights to the character for an extra $1500, but Phillies did not want it (bought it years later for over $200K)
3.) The Phanatic's rights were nearly returned after 35 years to the lady

The Phanatic has caused over $3M in settlements for incidents at games (hot dog cannon to the face is my favorite).

and to fight smell in the costume they use 2 parts water and 1 part vodka.

I don't know if any of you have ever been in one of those mascot uniforms, but they're awful. I nearly had a panic attack in front of the Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce while dressed as the Ice Bat mascot of the Austin minor league hockey team. They paid me $100 while I was interning there because the normal mascot couldn't make it. That was a lot of money to a college kid in 1999. I'd rather make money the ol' fashioned GPJ way than ever do that again.

By coincidence the Phanatic passed by our section yesterday on the way to dancing on the dugout roof. I can only imagine what the inside of that must smell like. It was in the high 80s with some but not stifling humidity, and I felt nasty. I could imagine what it was like in there.

ETA: I knew all of those facts except the Statler and Waldorf one. That's some info you have chiseled on your gravestone.
