Speaking of British names, the Great Nigel extinction is worsening. As listeners to the Men in Blazers will know, there were zero babies named Nigel in England this year. 15 Lucifers, but no Nigels. Past couple of pods Rog lists absurd names that had multiple babies named in 2021.

This article popped up, including a discussion of the 2019 Gathering of the Nigels where a Guinness Record was set of most Nigel's in one place, to sign the Book of Nigels to raise awareness to prevent the Nigel extinction. Guess it didn't work. I love this quote, it's so Nigel, "In the year I was born, 1963, there were over 5,000 Nigels born. It was peak Nigel. It was so ubiquitous and it became much-maligned. At school I used to have the mickey taken out of me."

Who among us hasn't wanted to take the mickey out of a Nigel?

Is there a distaff event? Poppy Corby-Teuch in the least at the first turn. Though I suppose something like Queen Elizabeth II might win.
Hold on, I'm trying to see if Jack London ever gets this fire built or not.
