It's been a while since I've listened to them. Gonna start with Weed Party and see where the algorithm takes me.

Yup, see you there. My wife gave the go ahead for me to go to Memphis last month to see American Aquarium and Lucero, so there's no way she won't give the green light here.

This actually means the family and I will most likely drive through Indianapolis on the way to Michigan in June. I was contemplating a route that took me closer to Louisville/Lexington, but no need now since I’m going back two months later.

I like Margo Price and Midland, too.
Fucking love me some Midland. And Band of Horses. And DMB. And the sound of Cha Wa. (The name, have yet to hear their music).

Would love to see y'all. Could put you up for the night if you need a place to stay but it might be tight quarters for a whole family.

It would probably be a lunch type situation on June 26th. Stopping in Little Rock on the 25th instead of going further because American Aquarium is there that night and I'm missing them in Houston.

Giff did you buy the two day pass? I guess you had to, since the one day isn't open yet, come to think of it.

What's y'alls plan? I may coordinate if you guys are going to both/one depending on how much they're asking.

Two days for $155. Considering I'd probably pay at least $30 to see a least five of those bands, it seems like a no-brainer. Now just have to figure out travel plans.

It seems like MMJ has been on a never ending encore since Evil Urges. Whereas the first four LPs were atmosphere, and the last four have been lights on, loud rock.

I dunno. Ever since then I’ve found Jim James to be annoying, too. That’s probably on me though.

I feel like most every lead from that ~1997-2002 wave of indie comes off as "probably really annoying" except maybe Casablancas. He seems to have a bit of self-awareness.

They've been playing it live infrequently for awhile. Heard it a few years ago and loved it. Think it's the first time he did it solo

The DMB Gorge shows on Labor Day Weekend is a bucket list show that people spend a lot on. A few hours before the show Dave announced that Carter and Stefan can't perform tonight due to Covid (not sure if they have it or were exposed), so it's a Dave and Tim show, which is normally nice, but not when you're expecting to see the entire band at probably the best venue. This sucks.

Such a good show. The begining was a typical Dave and Tim show. Then, "All" was the band missing its rythm section still managing to play good versions of the songs. "Buddy" is the relatively new keyboardist who then somehow played drums really well with a guy who played on the Dave and Friends album going on stage to play bass. The other names were members of Dumpstaphunk, Great show with maybe a few hours to figure it out ahead of time. I know I get carried away following this band, but last night made me appeciate them even more (other than them keeping me up way past my bedtime)

Also, it's cool to have a guy in the pit streaming the show from his phone for a thousand other at home fans, even with the singing along and commentary.

I'm going through his list and just got here:

155. I Did It (Everyday). The song that changed the direction of DMB’s trajectory forever. The music video remains bizarrely hilarious. Wow, this was so long ago.

And it rings sooooooo true. Complete switch flip the first time I heard it, especially coming after the Lillywhites.

Almost 5 hours of podcasts on the Lillywhite Sessions and Busted Stuff with interviews with Lillwhite and Stephen Harris (Busted Stuff producer). So much good info.

Them: DMB sucks! You've seen them how many times? I bet you wish you were on that boat don't you!?
