Raducanu is a witch. Put hexes on her opponents. Shelby Rogers beats Ash Barty and then turns into a complete pile of garbage. Sorribes Tormo beats Barty at the Olympics, but against Raducanu is basically an amateur. Bencic crushed Swiatek and then played the absolute worst version of her game against Emma. And here we see Maria the two best matches of the tournament by anyone and now cannot hit a serve.

It may be legit, but the guy who flaunted all the rules and got covid doesn't get much benefit of the doubt. Although at some point they said having it was the same as vaccination, I don't think that's the case anymore with so many breakthroughs even.

Italy announced they were putting all England games in Sicily and they weren’t allowing any English fans to enter mainland Italy. I remember discussion that if England qualified in 94 they would have England play all their games in Detroit.

You are correct, i rewatched the 1990 draw and they did allocate the 6 seeds into groups and cities. But England did end up playing 4 more matches on the mainland.

Well, here's a fun hypothetical article. England takes the place of Norway in Group E. They win the group and end up losing in the QF to Germany on penalties of course.

They wanted Italy in New York obviously so it would have been funny to see Italy-England in Detroit. Also Detroit was a "West" city, The US were flying back and forth between California and Detroit.

I'm just remembering what I read or heard on TV 30 years ago. England's group was in Sardinia (not Sicily) to keep them out of mainland Italy. I remember seeing a piece on the news or a broadcast discussing security measures to keep known hooligans out of the country and minimize the damage English fans could cause. The Detroit thing was never a rule since England didn't qualify. I don't remember if it was an actual plan USSF or FIFA would have enacted or a pundit/journalist suggesting they should.

In that article it states that he was photographed, without a mask, at an event the day after he tested positive.

Tennis Australia told players that a covid infection made them exempt from having to be vaccinated. In November Australia told Tennis Australia that covid infections are not a reason to be exempt from vaccination.

So I really don't think Novax has a ground to stand on. Tennis Australia isn't the ruling body on who can or cannot enter the country. He is appealing and if his appeal is denied he can be banned from Australia for 3 years. Sounds good to me.

Australia is posting 100K+ new cases on the reg, equivalent to well over 1M a day if it had the USA's population. If this is truly about public health or science rather than making a political point, then they shouldn't play the tournament at all.
