Good lord, that sounds infuriating. And stressful when you have to contemplate that some numbskull in accounting is fucking with your case.

Oh, I just assumed someone lower level based on ... something. If its higher up in accounting, they're probably incented on keeping expenses lower ; )

Yeah, I think he is doing a great job. Not just saving on the experts expenses, but all expenses for the trial as you'll have to drop the case or settle! Good job.

Doing my cancer fund raising ride today...

I got hit by a fucking car, 3 miles from the finish. I was in a bike lane, and a young woman signalled left, then turned right, right in front of me. Locked up my brakes, but still went into her passenger side rear fender. Went down HARD....but I think I'm ok. Hit my head hard (gonna need a new helmet), but no major injuries...not even any road rash somehow. And my bike seems ok...after gathering my wits, I rode the last 3 miles of the 94 mile ride.

Dodged a serious bullet...very very very lucky....

The woman (she was on around 19-20) was freaked...she said she was texting me her number, but she never did. I should have gotten a picture of her license plate, but I was in a daze...and fully adrenalized. Lots of witnesses, including another ride who was ride behind me who rode the last 3 miles with me just to make sure I got there ok.

Didn't call the cops...since I feel ok (for the most part....I know I'm going to be really sore tomorrow)

Shit, Dave. I’m glad you’re more-or-less okay. An accident bad enough to ruin a helmet is serious shit.

The outside looks ok....seriously scuffed up, but no visible cracks. But the plastic webbing/suspension stuff inside pulled out of the foam. And I've always heard that if you take a tumble like that, replace the helmet.

And yeah....I'll be getting another POC. It definitely worked this time.

How did the car get there? Are such fundraising rides on blocked off streets? They are here.

In my experience they don’t block streets for the really long rides except right at the beginning. With more bikes on the road at once, there’s generally more safety in numbers in a big event ride. But it still just takes one driver spacing out for a few seconds.

That's exactly right. Blocked off streets at 6:30 am when we started, for about the first 3 miles or so.

Ah i see. Here they just do long races in laps so the area is blocked off.

I rode my bike today for the first time since getting hit by the car 2 weeks ago (turns out I had a mild concussion, and the doctor told me to take it easy for a couple of weeks).

Its gonna take me a while to not be totally tense going through intersections. And I'm gonna ride right through the same spot where I got hit on my way home from work.

Kind of (not really) along the lines of DiS... Running errands with the wife yesterday and witnessed an accident, literally right in front of us. One of those deals where we're on a 4 lane road, someone is trying to make a left and the person in the RH lane stops to wave them through, but our lane (LH) can't see why the RH lane is stopped. The Volvo right in front of us T-bones the car trying to make a left... we were going probably 30-35 MPH.

I was jittery driving for the next hour or so.

I'm a nerd and I watch a decent amount of dashcam recorded crashes on YouTube. This was pretty intense compared to what I see on those clips because it was 15 yards in front of us. Didn't stop because it was in front of a shopping center and a couple dozen people witnessed it and were checking on both vehicles.

Go to the top right just under the X, and there should be 3 vertical dots. Click there, click history, go to recently closed and you should find the window there.

It should be available even if Chrome itself is shut down.

Also, you might like this for future reference, Chrome (especially with gobs of tabs) is a RAM eater.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
