Ok, just making sure that I'm not crazy here.

The complete lack of any understanding that the "drain doesn't just drain slow just because" with a blank look on her face drives me up a wall.

I heard the drain draining slow from the other side of the house. (Weird acoustics) And she's like "Oh, that's just how it drains." And then I pull a fucking ferret from the drain.

There's gotta be a male equivalent to this for women where we're just like "Oh, ok" when they mention something that's actually important.

It’s called a “husband”.

I'm wondering if Johnnie's question is an elaborate code for something else.

Me too...because ffs I knew this shit before I ever got married. As for the sybian...well he has no excuse.

(I use a drain cover specifically designed to cover the shower drain and catch hair. Sink still gets clogged every so often. But again, I am not the least bit surprised nor intent on making a deal about it)

Sorry, man. Been there, and it definitely sucks. Do you know what caused it?
I once got "I think I'm dying"-level food poisoning and I knew exactly which worker at Arby's gave it to me.

Nope. They guy that was doing food prep was in full hustle-mode, so at some point between orders he came out and did a wipe down of the tables and took out the trash. Goes right back in and makes my beef and cheddar... and in hindsight, I'm 99 percent sure he never got near a sink to wash his hands.

And by hindsight, I mean while cursing him to sun and back while I vomited into the shower and shat up the toilet bowl simultaneously.

Partial checklist to avoid food poisoning:

1. Don't accept food from an Arby's worker who didn't wash their hands
2. Don't order shrimp from a fast-food restaurant located in a land-locked state on a weekend

States are either landlocked or not landlocked permanently. It doesn't matter day of the week.

Also also... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that your average Qdoba isn't shipping in fresh anything. Vast majority of seafood that is shipped in frozen. Not that you can't unfreeze it, let it sit too long and serve it spoiled, but... It's not like you're rolling the dice every time you eat seafood 100 miles off either coast.

That was not a fun drive back to Chicago...I'm lucky I was riding with someone who did not get the chicken dinner. One carload of teammates had everyone get sick, and they had to get a cheap hotel room and wait it out for 2 days.

And, of course, it is pronounced "Ver-SALES" in Ohio.

Speaking of that, when you are hiking in the mountains, don’t assume drinking water from a cool, clear running stream won’t give you explosive diarrhea and tie your stomach in knots, i.e. giardia.

As I recall, if you're camping in the mountains, you should boil water like 3x longer than when you're at sea level to ensure virus/bacteria are eliminated (cuz water boils at a lower temp the higher up you go).

Does anyone still boil water? I thought all backpackers used the pump filters, like this:

Definitely easier to use filtration or even iodine tablets/solution than boiling water. You’ll use way too much fuel to boil water to make it safe.

I see this in TV/movies all the time and I'm like... You gonna get the squirts.

1923 had a scene where a young woman woke up and walked over to a puddle near a creek and cupped her hands and grabbed a sip... She was amongst a flock of sheep and I was like... You gonna get the Riah.

Was gonna bump the Concussions thread but don't want to jump the gun (I think I'm OK)...

Took the dog out to pee after he woke up and he ended up pooping so I brought him back in and grabbed a bag and walked back out and picked it up and tossed it and then stumbled while walking up the two steps that lead to my back porch and slammed my head against the doorframe just above my left eye and I saw stars and that eye started to water and I think there is already a bruise and swelling a line where I hit some corner of wood and what was I saying?

Isn't the rule of thumb that if you see stars it's at least a mild concussion?
