There's only been 2 of them and you had to crack 2.8 billy to make the list

How would Sam Worthington not be up there? According to wiki the two Avatars alone are at $4.1 B already.

ETA: I misread and saw only domestic gross, not worldwide.

Pruitt vs Giff
Syb vs GoodKarma

Duff vs Enoch
GPJ vs Brian

Sometimes it's not about how you play, but who you play. (sorry Rex).

After I submitted the Sabres logo, I panicked because I forgot about those horrendous banana slug logos. Turns out that was 2 logos ago, and they are back to their original 1970-96 logo that I was picturing. Somehow I forgot about the grey and black buffalo head outlined in red they had from 96-06. I even went to several games when they wore that logo.

I had settled on Bruins or Leafs before just deciding to what the fuck with the flaming C. That's a great logo. But there was still a 50% I miss that one...

If I hadn't heard Summer of '69 in the car last night I probably wouldn't have thought of Bryan Adams and convinced myself that the dude who has one of the biggest singles of all time must be popular enough to make the list over my original choice, RS sure thing N. Young. Dammit.

I can't believe the Philly Flyers' logo isn't even a top ten logo. That's crap.

Yet the Kraken logo is? Given the trends with new teams and their logos, it might not even survive the 2020s. The Flyers' logo has been the same (obv some tweaks since) since the 1960s.

That said, I felt really good about Depp. His real $$$ maker was the Disney Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Holy fuck, that is embarrassing. I read the questions the day they posted and thought "good thing he put the Pens down at 11, because that was my first choice." Guess I didn't reread closely the day I actually answered the questions. Or the nagging draw towards the Sabres as I listed the best was because I read Sabres in the question. That survey clearly sucks, as most of my top choices didn't make the list.

In some order…

Kraken
Flames
Bruins
Canadiens
Leafs
Red Wings
Flyers
Penguins
Blues
Canucks

Most are straight-up not good.

IMO, The Flyers logo is easily top 20 of all four major sports. You just know it when you see it. No fixation required. YMMV obviously with the team itself.

Are the Original Six logos so revered because they're good, or because they've never really changed? I can go either way on this argument, but I will admit that the Red Wings for my money is top 5 in all sports.

I'm not being snarky, and heck, I "voted" for the Red Wings... but there was nothing in the question about longevity and I can also make the argument that using that, even subconsciously, as part of your thinking definitely can skew things.

I wouldn't say there's a lot to say about the Blackhawks logo from a design perspective, but as was just stated... You know who that is in a millisecond. Is familiarity or recognition part of what makes for a great logo?

Highly subjective, indeed.

A picture of a giant purple dick that "THIS DON'T WORK" would be very memorable too.

I would definitely argue that familiarity / recognition is a huge part of a logo’s staying power. Maybe that skews my perspective? It’s a fascinating question and regardless, these results would suggest a certain amount of recency bias.
