They've set aside 12 hours. There's a 48 second skit that's taking 90 minutes.
It's the sixth version of The Swamp. What could possibly go wrong?

I just was going to post about this. Its amazing, and reason #29478292 why KEXP is the best radio station in the galaxy.mister d wrote:KEXP is doing one of their full day shows where they do the album plus the full songs of all the samples on it. Today is "3 Feet High & Rising".
(And who brings a door to a concert?)
And then they said that was the scariest moment ever on the radio.howard wrote:Hey, they even included a deep cut Richard Pryor routine. I'm digging this. (Rock rock to the Planet Rock…don't stop)
And now Liberace playing "Chopsticks"...howard wrote:Wow, Assembly Line from The Commodores first album. Lots of other stuff I haven't thought about in decades, this is pretty cool.
Most underrated song on that album by a mile.govmentchedda wrote:Love this simple track.
Is your brother on a church kick?
Seems like just a different kind of dope sick
Better off to teach a dog a card trick
Than try to have a point and make it clear

I should know by Tuesday or Wednesday. No news yet.Giff wrote:Brian, am I seeing one of these bands in the next week or so?DaveInSeattle wrote:Seeing both of these bands in the next month or so. Super excited.Giff wrote: St. Paul and the Broken Bones

Both put on great shows.
Good tune. Thanks for that.govmentchedda wrote:Love this simple track.
Still kick myself that I walked out on him one night. In my defense, it was beyond time for me to be going.BSF21 wrote:Good tune. Thanks for that.govmentchedda wrote:Love this simple track.
I don't get the hate, but I do agree that in many ways it is his least accessible.brian wrote:Not sure I get the hate for the new Bon Iver album. Who wants a band or artist to make the same album every time? I think it's just as haunting and beautiful as any of Vernon's other albums with Bon Iver or Volcano Choir.
True, though at least it's not being inaccessible for inaccessibility's sake like some bands might occasionally be guilty of. (*cough* Radiohead *cough*). I think the album is meant to be a study of loneliness and separation and some of the production is meant to convey that just as much as the lyrics.govmentchedda wrote:I don't get the hate, but I do agree that in many ways it is his least accessible.brian wrote:Not sure I get the hate for the new Bon Iver album. Skinny Love ain't walking through that door.
Other than his recent (hypocritcal) Pepsi/Beyonce comments, why would he garner hate?mister d wrote:I think a lot of the hate is really for Vernon himself.

There are artists I like where I'm pretty sure I would like the person behind the art (St. Vincent, Will Sheff) and there are artists I like where I probably don't want to know anything about the person (Father John Misty). For some reason, beyond the series of one-off annoyances, Vernon has always seemed to fall closer to the latter category. There's not a good reason like with FJM, but just something, like the minor comments are a window into major comments that haven't yet been made? I don't know. Same with Win Butler.govmentchedda wrote:Other than his recent (hypocritcal) Pepsi/Beyonce comments, why would he garner hate?mister d wrote:I think a lot of the hate is really for Vernon himself.
