Omg turn on the TV and it's Christmas movies everywhere!

I like Christmas as much as the next person but it is becoming the Nickelback of holidays.

The other morning, I saw Christmas lights turned on at a couple different residences in the Santa Clara/San Jose area. Just wrong.

My local grocery store yesterday morning was taking down Halloween displays and putting up Christmas ones. Awful...

At least you Americans have some Thanksgiving hype to break up the Christmas onslaught. Here up north, there's nothing.

But at least there was snow on the ground Saturday...

My five year old has more sense than society. Went into a store on Saturday that was all decked out for Xmas. She asked if Xmas is the next holiday after after Halloween, and I told her Thanks giving was next (as I don't support the troops). She asked why they put up XMas crap if Thanksgiving is next.

We are clearly losing the war on XMas. Wasn't Obama supposed to make it illegal to put trees in your own homes and institute Sharia Law? Speaking, Alabama's legislature is voting on a bill to change the state Constitution to prohibit "foreign laws" in an effort to prevent Sharia Law from taking over the legal system. Holy fuck are people stupid and gullible.

Considering it's the UK, I'm surprised where "How Soon Is Now" would have placed. I get that within two bars from the distortion.

I learned all about Boney M from my Canadian former secretary. She was making fun of me mercilessly for not knowing who they were. She sang several songs, pulled up videos on Youtube, nothing. We looked them up, and they were huge in Canada, but not the US. The music was absolutely horrible.

The actress that played Danny's love interest had two roles in Hollywood. The girlfriend and the grocery checkout girl in Animal House.

Edit: Damn she had two other roles, in movies no one has heard of.

I think you're thinking of the trivia question that she was the only actor/actress to appear in both Animal House and Caddyshack (which seems impossible, but it's true).

Actually thinking of how I originally stated it, but wanted to fact check, hence the edit.

I had known that Steve Young was originally asked to play the role in There's Something About Mary that went to Brett Favre, but turned it down due to his Mormon beliefs. What I didn't know until now was that the first choice was Drew Bledsoe until he injured a woman stage-diving during an Everclear concert and didn't want any more bad publicity.

I suppose this means I should be St. Louis Blues fan.

This reminds me of a thought I had recently about the Browns: if you forced all NFL teams to rename themselves after their current owners, who would have the best and worst names?

Best:
Minnesota Wilfs
Jacksonville Khans
Buffalo Pegulas

Worst:
Washington Snyders
Green Bay Insufferable Pricks Who Brag About Being "Owners" Because They Paid $200
Cincinnati Browns

Good ones. The Detroit Fords sounds good to me. Certainly more historic than Lions. There haven't been many of them around here for well over 100 years.

Both my high school and university teams were named the Redmen.

Other teams if named after their owners - The Toronto Board of Directors (all sports), the Montreal Molsons, Edmonton Katz, Vancouver Aquilini, Atlanta Blanks.
