key there is "non-actionable" as they are far different than what any actual sportsbook odds would be

The Yankees would also be a part of "The Field" if those were real odds, which yeah. I'll take that bet at +700.

If the market out west doesn't materialize as much as anticipated, Bloom not driving up the price (really, in terms of years) would be a fireable offense.

He can try to price drive but that requires Judge's team to work with them and NY to see them as a threat. A team that willingly lets Mookie Betts walk isn't going to be a $40MM per year player for Aaron Judge. Giants and Mets are both serious enough its not necessary or believable.

Which reminds me of one thing hockey does better than every other US sport: when a team wins the title, the Cup is presented to the players first.

Its an award for success relative to the rest of the league, not your franchise's ownership.

Seems like a weird signing but not exactly a FO I'd question.

Missed this but I'm assuming because he was a media guy and they all love a nice narrative.

Signing Abreu makes sense when you figure the window of contention is probably about the length of the deal and he should be able to produce for at least the first couple of years of the three. Will be curious if this means they're not going to try and re-sign Verlander though. Seems like even at the salary he'll command would make sense to bring him back for at least one more year.

Taking Kate Upton to LA or NY is not surprising in the least, and especially the Mets after losing deGrom.

Verlander already lives in LA in the offseason, so NY is a little surprising given how long of a flight it is, but with the money he's made and will be making I guess that kind of stuff is irrelevant.

Assuming that story is true I'm not sure how its not illegal (unless they can acknowledge the variances but successfully claim they weren't aware?).

I don't listen to WFAN much anymore but when I do I love to hear callers saying things like "I'm despondent this morning. I'm mourning the loss of the lure of New York." with as much earnestness as they can muster.

So much for despondency.
