Doesn't he get his ass eaten (literally) by the shark in Jaws 3D? I vote for that.

"Diggstown" is enjoyable.

ETA: His son went to Syracuse. He was visiting and came to a basketball game, at which he ended up returning to his seat during play. Upon seeing him, a noise started to rise through the crowd: "Loooooooooouu..."

That movie severely tests the theory of suspension of disbelief.

Yeah, Roots is such a weird thing to place though... it's not really a movie.

But I think ppl of a certain age, that movie was pretty vital in getting the message about slavery across. As we've discussed, America's education system continues to do a pretty lousy job of telling our entire history. For a lot of people, watching Roots completely destroyed the notion that slaves were just employees and/or part of the family.

And just to be blatantly obvious... That narrative was very much purposeful.
