This is the only argument for the GD and Goals scored being the earlier tiebreaks: it creates more scenarios on the last matchday.

Agreed. Germany is in the top 6, maybe top 3 teams as far as WC form and pedigree is concerned.

Netherlands
Brazil
Germany
France
Chile
Argentina

Semi-realistic best case scenario I'm hoping for tomorrow. We play to a scoreless first half and Portugal goes up early 1-0 at Ghana. In that scenario, I probably won't have a heart attack in the second half at least.

Or, put another way, it takes into account all 3 group matches.

Maybe if we were playing Uruguay.

I think that the game is close and just hope the Germans don't score off any stupid mistakes. Especially late. I hate that's it in the US's best interest to root for Portugal tomorrow but let's go Puppet Ronnie

I know you threw in "pedigree" but man... What's up with Brazil and especially Argentina so far.

The only way I'm not shitting my pants is if we are up 3-0 at halftime, Portugal up 1-0. I still may require Germany to pick up a red card or two to feel comfortable. Seriously getting nervous for this game right now. About to teach a webinar to over 500 people, never done one before, and the US game is causing me nerves.

You know, it's weird doing a presentation in webinar form. I completely prefer in person, so you can connect to the audience and get some visual feedback on whether your notes are hitting. Also a bit weird with a moderator and two presenters, all with control of the PowerPoint slides, and a multiple second delay in slides moving. You are just talking away into an empty phone.

I've got the nipple tingles and as we approach game time, I expect the thickening. Courage! Dominate! Feral donkeys!

Interesting developments in the Ghanaian camp. Muntari was already suspended for 2 yellow cards, but Boatang is a great player. The players didn't receive their promised bonus pay, which may be the cause of this strife, but the President promised to fly a plane in with cash for the players. Were they worried their checks wouldn't clear? Who flies planes full of cash across the Atlantic to pay employees? Hopefully Ghana isn't up for the game, but not too out of it that they get blown out. Holy fuck I am nervous!

I believe that Ghana and Portugal can tie!
