Works for me. Unsure if it does if one doesn't have a Bsky account.

On my phone it opened the app and I had to sign in, and it took me to a George Takei post. On my computer it took me to a different post.

Is this offset by Poland electing a total normie (no, but a glimmer of decent news in the long march toward populist authoritarians maybe)? https://apnews.com/article/poland-prime ... %20Justice.

Oct 7 to March 14. So about 150-160 days is the required time before jewish americans people speak up about the israeli government. 30,000+ is apparently the number of dead required.

Well, it was the length of time that it took Chuck Schumer to say anything. Plenty of other Jewish Americans have been speaking up against the Israeli government and the reprisals all along.

Fair. Im sure theres a diversity of thought. I havent heard it but shouldnt generalize. Perhaps buy a bigger bullhorn? There are PLENTY of Jewish people in this country with that type of reach. Yet Mr. Schumer is the first to come within my sphere. There are those on this board who are silent despite plenty of reasonable points on the israeli side. We talk about a lot of stuff here and learn a lot from each other. So one might say their silence is complicit. And it seems to be the modus operandi generally for pro israeli policy... dont talk about it... sweep it under the rug and bring up those that are antisemitic.

There were immediate lawn signs in the aftermath of October 7th and then an early and steady ongoing reduction as this has gone on. Some have been modified to "We Stand With THE PEOPLE OF Israel" but most have just been pulled. Granted, this is a pretty far left town, but the concept of "you're either for Hamas or the Jewish people" or belief we have to fully support (and fund) the Netanyahu gov't was abandoned early. Its no different than being for the american people and against the american war machine and slowly and waaaaaaay too late, everyone else seems to be realizing this.

Didn’t a Jewish director just get raked over the coals for using his acceptance speech to call out the Israeli government?

Anyway, I don’t agree that silence is complicity when we’re talking about Americans who happen to be Jewish. That’s a scary road to go down. As far as I’m concerned American Jews have no greater obligation to speak out against the Gaza attacks than anyone else.

Just like Arabs or Palestinians didn’t have a special obligation to speak out against 10/7.

In general the sentiment is correct. But do you really think Palestinians dont need to confirm that they aren't for murder of random Israeli or Jewish teenagers? If they didn't I just might be an Israeli dad on elbows and knees seeking to take out 5 of your family.

You speak of some director but I have no idea who that is and that's the problem.

I wouldn't expect all Jewish Americans to explain or condemn or support the Israeli cause but if you are a thought leader you should discuss and contribute and explain even if only to distinguish between the Israeli Jewish relationship and other religion/governmental relationships much less the military goals and their validity and consequences

Yeah, I updated the link with a more detailed story. Probably the wrong thread too given the motive.

I did get to make a good Garth Brooks joke in our family chat though.
