This is a question for Brian....

What is your take on the thing Zappos CEO Tony Heisch is doing in Vegas? I have read a bunch about it and he seems to be getting a bunch of good press, but I am really curious the local take.

Considering most of the area he's trying to rehab was largely a shithole for a really long time, there doesn't seem to be much of a downside. I'm personally a big fan, because it is bringing stuff to the area that I care about (good restaurants, bars, etc.)

The only concern I have and many other people share is gentrification, but if you'd have told me 5 years ago that we'd be complaining about thinking in that part of town getting TOO nice, I'd have laughed and accused you of being on drugs. I think he's a genius.
