I occasionally watch Aussie Rules and it really is an insane sport. The Grand Final is a huge event. My money is on the Hawks, even though Sydney features a Canadian star Mike Pyke -
This is Sydney's second final in three years. Pyke had a great final in 2012. His stats:
Pyke was one of the Swans’ best in the 2012 decider with 29 hit-outs, six contested marks and 16 disposals.
I sort of understand what that means. Anyway, as late night viewing goes, it's a lot of fun.

I said it in a reddit thread and I'll say it here. The ironic part of Aussie Rules football, is that as far as I can tell...there are no rules in Aussie Rules football.
There are lots of rules, I actually found it Ironic that in the states whenever they throw rules out the window they call it Aussie Rules.
Yes it is rough but you can't tackle high, you can't hold a guy who doesn't have the ball, you can't lock his arms to prevent him from catching the ball, you can't run more than 10 metres without bouncing the ball, if you're get tackled you must release the ball immediately. If you block the opponent from taking a free kick it's a 50-metre penalty. If the ball goes out of bounds on a bounce the ref throws it back in but if it goes out 'on the full' it's a free kick to the other team. And you can't even throw the ball, you must bump it with your fist.
It definitely has more rules than soccer and rugby.
Kung Fu movies are like porn. There's 1 on 1, then 2 on 1, then a group scene..
Only thing i don't like about Aussie Rules is the constant, never-ending whistles, and the fact that games that are actually close and go right down to the wire are too infrequent. Other than that I love the sport though. When I was in Melbourne i stayed an extra week just to go see two more games at the MCG, since the first 2 were so awesome. Still wear my Carlton Blues jacket, even though they've sucked for a long time now.

I've been partial to St. Kilda's ever since I saw a guy in synagogue with a St.Kilda's logo on his yarmulke. Yes, a Jewish symbol with a Christian symbol.
But, sometimes, Aussie Rules games are close. Here's the end of the 2010 Grand Final.

Fox Soccer Plus was tough to find on my cable system. Almost missed the 90 minute pregame show entirely. Come on, I know I ain't the only one watching this live.
Who knows? Maybe, you were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.

Oh yeah…
Swans guy goes for a mark, Hawks guy tackles him, lands on his shoulder. Swans guy gets up and cold cocks him right in the chest. Everyone's totally cool with it.
Appropriate response, since as he landed on his shoulder, drove an elbow into the ear. Swans kinda matriculate the ball up the field, while Hawks strike much more quickly, long punts and receptions inside the 50.
