Anyone listen to the Coldest Case in Laramie? Serial production. Was interesting to see how policing was done in 1985 plus how people have false memories. But the reporter wasn't really able to find anything new.

Oh, thanks for the reminder. I'd gone down a true crime rabbit hole and that Laramie case got mixed up in my head with Matthew Shepherd.

Finally got a reasonable prosecutor on the Adnan Sayed case. I went back and read the initial discussions and it was kind of fascinating. You can see the split between folks that just listened to Serial, as opposed to those that kept digging with outside sources.

That podcast is amazing. You look at it and they're just doing research and presenting facts. But it's the delivery and banter.

They should have let Trump buy the Bills in 2014.

Tagliabue was one of the NFL's lawyers when Trump's ill-fated USFL uprising went to court. I have a feeling that no amount of money could have got Trump into the NFL.

I have no idea when I originally downloaded Pocket Casts, but I think I downloaded it due to your recommendation.

It's my most used app overall, by far.

(And listening to podcasts on 1.7x is the sweet spot for me. Just fast enough where you can get through listening and the people's speaking isn't that weird, but not fast enough where it sounds like a chipmunk.)

Edit:

I was curious and found that I made a post in this thread in 2017, so I may even predate you!

Conservative Group Withdraws Lawsuit Against Left-Wing Podcast
Over the past four years, the podcast “Know Your Enemy” has built an avid following with its learned, irreverent promise to guide listeners “through the swampy morass of the American right.”

But in recent months, Matthew Sitman and Sam Adler-Bell, the two self-described “leftist bros” who host it, had been embroiled in a behind-the-scenes legal battle with another imperative: Know your litigant.

It started in February, when Young America’s Foundation, a conservative youth organization, filed a trademark infringement complaint against the two hosts, claiming that the podcast’s use of the phrase “Young Americans for Freedom” to describe one of its subscription levels was “likely to cause confusion” and “deception,” leading people to think the podcast is sponsored by the conservative campus group founded in 1960 by William F. Buckley.
The kicker...
So far, “Know Your Enemy” has featured only fleeting references to Young Americans for Freedom or Young America’s Foundation, which is a sponsor of the first Republican presidential debate on Aug. 23. But the hosts said that will change.

“We absolutely intend to use our free speech rights to inform our listeners about Y.A.F.’s history and explore whether its present-day priorities reflect its founding principles,” Adler-Bell said.

“Say what you will about Bill Buckley,” he added, “he was not humorless.”

Apparently Questlove has a podcast that's been on for awhile and he's interviewed people like Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama. I of course found the podcast because he recently interviewed Dave Matthews -- it's basically just two friends talking about random stuff, but there were a few cool tidbits including some great stuff with Questlove nerding out about Carter and his drumming and Dave immitating Adam Sandler.

The Redemption of Jar Jar Binks was pretty entertaining.

6 40-ish minute podcasts that go through the origins of the character, the crazy backlash to it, and the affects it had on Ahmed Best, the actor that played him.

I listened through The Ringer's Do We Get To Win This Time? on The Big Picture feed.

It was about the Vietnam War through the eyes of Hollywood and its influence on pop culture and the zeitgeist at large. I found it very interesting.

I've queued up several movies they talked about because now I'm interested in learning more.

"The Rest Is History" is a really good podcast - with a British slant on things.

"Bombing With Eric Andre" always makes me laugh. Usually about a half hour of Eric Andre talking with comics about their worst experiences on stage.
