He's definitely been booked. There's a mug shot and everything!

Disposed charges. I assume that's the police equivalent of ... "we fucked up"

Great start to the broadcast here, crazy that the two guys on air were witnesses to everything.

Vibes are definitely that it was a chaotic situation, players were abandoning their cars and walking up to three miles to get to the gates, players and media were told they were being allowed to enter. It's raining and dark. I'm no Scottie Scheffler fan (is anyone?), but I would need to hear a lot more to think this guy deserves to be fucking arrested.

I tend to agree. I can see the officer handcuffing, but what made it escalate to him being taken to jail?

Caper movie with Jordan and Rickie Fowler trying to rescue Scottie from jail while the diabolical prison guard, played by brooks koepka does the bidding of evil warden Greg Norman. Tiger plays the wizened old reformed criminal that they pull in for one last job.

I've watched enough bodycam videos to know... If you take a cop for an unexpected, out-of-vehicle ride... You're going to jail. There's no gray area and room for "cooler heads."

The situation was likely visually confusing, but... A cop stepping to your vehicle saying stop moving is not ambiguous.

There was an ESPN reporter who witnessed the whole thing and you’ll never guess but sounds like the cops were lying! (Or at least grossly exaggerating reality.)

I wouldn't trust a sports reporter on giving truthful details about the incident. They don't want Scottie behind bars. They may lose viewership.

I also wouldn't trust the police report. Guess I am just cynical.

With a bunch of likely other witnesses out there I don’t think a reporter is going to put their career at risk to carry water for a golfer. If anything they might be tempted to make it a bigger story than it apparently is.

I haven't really kept up with the LIV/PGA details, but wouldn't this be the one major where LIV golfers wouldn't be allowed?

Do we all consider the PGA Championship the little brother of the majors, and that's why this was in the non-majors thread?

I think that’s both fair (it is probably considered the 4th prestigious of the majors), unfair (it usually has the best field as far as top 100 players year-in and year-out) and the result of laziness in not wanting to start a new thread.
